Implementation Overview || Citizen Centric Services Through Post Offices

Common Service Centre (CSC) Introduction :

The CSC was set up in 2006, under the MeiTY, as part of the Government’s initiatives to introduce e-governance on a massive scale
  • The CSCs provide high quality and cost-effective web-enabled, e-governance services, in rural areas, including application forms, certificates, and utility payments such as electricity, telephone and water bills etc in addition to the universe of G2C and B2C services.
The CSC scheme envisages a 3-tier structure
The CSC operator (called Village Level Entrepreneur or VLE) 
The Service Centre Agency (SCA), that will be responsible for a division of 500-1000 CSCs 
A State Designated Agency (SDA) identified by the State Government responsible for managing the implementation in the entire State.

✓ NIOS Services- Registration of Students, Payment of Examination Fees, Declaration of Results. 
Financial Inclusion
✓ Banking– Deposit, Balance Enquiry, Statement of Accounts, Recurring Deposit Accounts,
✓ Insurance– Health Insurance, Crop Insurance, Personal Accident, Motor Insurance etc. 
Other Services
✓ Agriculture– To avail the agriculture services, Farmer registration is done. It helps the farmers to receive advisories related to it from experts. In addition, many other services like Weather Information, Soil Information is also provided to the citizens.
✓ Recruitment– Notification for Recruitment in Indian Navy, Indian Army, Indian Air Force is provided.

Income Tax Filling- Income Tax Returns can also be filed through CSC. Manual is available in English and Hindi for VLE.
