A notification issued by the Government of India on 30th March 2020 with respect to some other amendments done in the Indian Stamp Act is being misquoted. There is no extension of the Financial Year. The Finance ministry said that a notification has been issued by the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance on 30th March, 2020 which relates to certain amendments to the Indian Stamp Act. It pertains to putting in place an efficient mechanism for collection of Stamp Duty on Security Market Instruments transactions through Stock Exchanges or Clearing Corporation authorized by Stock Exchanges Depositories. Ministry of Communications Premium payment period for Postal Life Insurance & Rural Postal Life Insurance extended upto 30th April 2020 Posted On: 30 MAR 2020 5:16PM by PIB Delhi In view of the threat posed by the outbreak of Corona Virus (COVID-19), and the complete lockdown across India, Directorate of Postal Life Insurance(PLI), Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications has given an extension of period for payment of their due premium of March 2020 upto 30 th  April 2020 without charging any penalty/default fee. Directorate of PLI said that although many Post Offices are functional as part of essential services, Postal Life Insurance/Rural Postal Life customers are facing difficulty in  approaching post offices for payment of premium. Therefore, as a measure of convenience to all the PLI / RPLI customers, the period of payment has been extended.  The decision is likely to benefit approximately 13 lakh policy holders (5.5 Lakh PLI and 7.5 Lakh RPLI)who have no

No Penalty In RD/SSA Scheme Till 30.06.2020 As informed by MoF, Sir/madam  This has a reference to proposal/requests received from Deptt. of Posts, banks, depositors and Agents Associations to waive default fee/revival fee applicable on National Savings RD/PPF/SSA accounts on non deposit of monthly/yearly deposit and period of calculation/payment of interest on Small Savings Accounts due to the lock down situation in the country to contain spread of COVID19 infection. Dear Comrades, As you have noticed, we, on behalf of NFPE, Odisha State CoC have already written to the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Odisha requesting him to appraise the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India for complete closure of Post Offices to contain spread of COVID-19.
